2012-13 General Transfer Window Announced
The 2012-13 student transfer application window (Feb 6th 12:01 AM - Feb 20th 11:59 PM) has been announced.  Applications may be submitted by one of the following methods.
1.)    Apply by submitting a Transfer Application form to the transfer department.  Transfer application forms will be available at all Knox County Schools during the open window. The application form will also be available on the KCS Transfer page during the transfer window here.
2.)    Apply online using your Parent Portal ID here.

School Board Policy JBCD sets the guidelines for student transfers within the school system. There is a transfer period each spring during which parents may request transfers.

Knox County Schools have specific zones set up for school attendance.  Knox County students must attend the school in the zone where their legal parents/guardians reside. If a parent would like for their child(ren) to attend a school outside his or her zone, a transfer must be granted. An approved transfer is valid through terminal grade of the school, (K-5, 6-8, 9-12). If approved, parents will be responsible for transportation and shall accompany their student(s) to the school for enrollment/registration.

To find your school zone go to: KGIS.org School Zone Search.

A student transfer may be revoked for good and sufficient reasons, such as attendance, discipline, lack of academic progress, or other.
